What is SCNB Direct?
SCNB Direct is an online only savings account for personal account holders. All transactions, including the application process, must be done online.

Is my money safe?
Your deposits are insured by the FDIC.  The standard insurance amount is $250,000 per depositor, per insured bank, for each account ownership category. 

What happens if my balance goes over $250,000?
Our representatives can provide you with additional ways you can increase your coverage with simple adjustments to your account titles.

Is there a minimum balance requirement?
Yes. To open the account, the minimum deposit is $50.00. You must maintain a minimum daily balance of $50.00 to avoid fees.

Am I limited as to the number of deposits and withdrawals I can make each month?
You can make as many deposits as you wish. There is a maximum of six withdrawals allowed per month.

Can I open an SCNB Direct Account at an SCNB branch?
SCNB Direct can only be opened online. This streamlined process saves us money, so we can pass on the savings to you by offering you a higher interest rate than what we offer on our traditional savings accounts.

How can I deposit and withdraw money from my SCNB Direct account?
You can transfer money online to/from your SCNB checking account or to/from an external (non-SCNB) checking or savings account.

Will I receive statements on my account?
Yes. If your account does not have any activity, a statement will be created and mailed to you via the US Postal Service following the end of each quarter (March 31st, June 30th, September 30th and December 31st). If activity does transpire on your account, a statement will be processed and mailed to you each month transactions have occurred.

Is my online application secure?
SCNB uses encryption technology for online security. This process helps provide secure transmission of information along the Internet by using a mathematical formula to scramble the transmitted data so that the transmission looks like nonsense text.

What do I need to open the account?
Before you start, have the following items handy:

  • Your Social Security Number or Tax Identification Number
  • Your Driver’s License or another valid form of identification including an ID card issued by a state DMV (Department of Motor Vehicles); Military ID or Passport
  • Information about any loans or mortgages that you may have to help us confirm your identity
  • Your current checking or savings account and routing numbers
  • For joint accounts, or if you have a beneficiary on your account, you will be asked to provide the Secondary Applicant’s or Beneficiary’s Name, Address, Social Security or Tax ID Number and Date of Birth
  • Your email address

What happens once I submit my application?
After submitting your application, you will receive a notification to your email address that your information has been received and advise you of any additional information that you may need to submit to complete the application process.
